One thing’s for sure after listening through BLAB’s latest single, “Gemini”, is that the eventual record that’s going to house all these diverse ditties is not only going to be a veritable banger but also one of the most interesting debuts to drop in some time.
“Gemini” is the fourth track we’ve covered from Frances Murray (AKA BLAB) and the journey we’ve heard with each new release has genuinely been like chronicling a sonic metamorphosis and we are so excited (As you should be, too, at this point) to witness this marvelous butterfly on full display when BLAB’s debut full-length sees the light of day in the near future. As it stands now, the tracks unveiled have been a shining kaleidoscope of fresh sounds offering a range of emotions across a variety of genres.
Described by Murray as her “sad girl-astrology-emo-garage-anthem”, “Gemini” is a driving dreamy anthem indeed and one that’d sound just as at home in the mid-’90’s as it does here in the present. Led by Murray’s chameleon-like vocals which slither into your earholes and rattle around inside your headspace, BLAB offers catharsis amongst the chaos with a sound as potent as the best kinds of medicine.
