More like how can we resist this song??? The Chelsea Curve’s latest single, the first in a series of tracks leading to a new EP due in the fall, is instantly infectious infusing their Mod sensibilities with a Pop sheen akin to The Go-Go’s at times for a memorable romp that’s sure to be a live staple for years to come.
Speaking of “live”, following a joyful celebration of sound and music during their performance at the Rock & Roll Rumble finals recently, The Chelsea Curve launch into another brief road excursion for a sort of Mod exchange program as they welcome the UK’s Sharp Class to these shores for their first US tour with dates happening from May 11th-May 13th.
But back to the new tune… and can we say that reviewing a new track while simultaneously editing a live review for the same band is a trip!
“How Can I (Resist You)?” is a driving new anthem that’s both a great starting point for fans who might’ve just discovered the band at the Rumble as well as a solid song in The Chelsea Curve stockpile of sonic stories. You’ve got the bass and drums from Linda Pardee and Ron Belanger respectively galloping along nicely together with some fresh licks out of Tim Gillis’ guitar and Pardee’s affable voice at the center of it all inviting you in. You can’t get any better than that.
“How Can I (Resist You)?” arrives on May 10th through Red On Red Records ahead of that aforementioned mini-tour starting on May 11th. For all the deets on where you can catch them live, pre-save the new single and more, head here.
