It seems like barely a few weeks back we were waxing poetic on the Money Fight release featuring the man who has made it his mission to inform you, the music lovin’ public, of what sounds should be hanging out in your headspace. The man in question is not only a non-stop treasure trove of musical delights produced by his own hand but also a great supporter and promoter of countless other rad artists around town and beyond that you should most definitely be hip to. High Holy Hell this is one helluva massive mammer jammer of musical excellence across thirty three tracks of diverse, driven Rawk. When you look up “Boston sound” in Webster’s dictionary (Which is obviously a thing in ANY dictionary), hopefully Money Fight gets a shout out next to the Bosstones, Dropkick Murphys, and Modern Lovers because, while a mixed batch of genres, the whole of Smells Like Money Fight: The Complete Basement Recordings is inherently Bean Town bravado through and through.
