PIG Makes Old School The New School On Relentless And Retro The Merciless Light

13 September 2022 By jesse 1 Comment

Not even parts of a whole anymore but fans of KMFDM’s beginnings have surely been getting a treat these last few years with that Industrial juggernaut still rolling along after 30+ years and Raymond Watts’ PIG back in full swing since 2016 and, more often than not, utilizing the talents of fellow former KMFDMer’s like En Esch and Steve White (As well as axe-master Gunter Schulz who does not feature on this particular record) as is the case with PIG’s latest outing The Merciless Light.

PIG Digs Deep, Gets Dancier With A Bevy Of Industrial And Electro Luminaries On Drugged, Dangerous, & Damned

4 November 2021 By jesse Leave a Comment

On the one hand, I typically despise writing about remix records but on the other, I love the Lord Of Lard. That said, I’ve recently come to the realization (Or was it a revelation?) that a remix album done right is akin to a new album unto itself utilizing the ebb and flow a regular record would have in place. As is the case with Drugged, Dangerous, & Damned which takes that embedded Raymond Watts DNA found in all the tracks and tweaks them to somehow dig down deeper in the roots to present listeners with a coherent collection of tracks that’s like classic KMFDM and early Skinny Puppy. In fact, the only flaw found here is the fact that the release should’ve been timed more perfectly to actually coincide with Halloween. We’ll take five days removed, though, and move on.

PIG Pounce With Packed Collection Of Potent New Pork On Powerful Pain Is God

18 November 2020 By jesse Leave a Comment

With an association as prolific as the one that Raymond Watts had with KMFDM, it’s inevitable that there will be comparisons from time to time. While Watts’ work as <PIG> is definitely its’ own monster, the latest offering in this current second coming of the Industrial giant is easily Watts’ Nihil. Filled with all the substance to back up that larger-than-life swagger, Pain Is God is a hefty record encapsulating all that’s made <PIG> great yet soaked in this mid-90’s synthetic haze.

KMFDM Herald In A New PARADISE On Latest (And Greatest) Slab Of Industrial Ecstasy

25 September 2019 By jesse Leave a Comment

KMFDM is back. Again. But why should you care? Because the Godfathers of Industrial consistently deliver the Ultra Heavy Beat and on PARADISE, their 21st album which celebrates their 35th year as a collective, they’re offering up their most diverse and, quite possibly, their best record of the 21st Century.

Lard Help Us All! PIG Offers Up Some Sweet Treats On Candy Coated Covers Record

5 June 2019 By jesse Leave a Comment

The Lord of Lard is an unstoppable machine lately. Whether it’s new <PIG> classics, remixes or covers, Raymond Watts is beyond reinvigorated during this second coming of the swine. Which brings us to the latest helping of pork in the form of Candy, an epic new album filled with covers done in a way that only <PIG> can.

PIG Gets You Through The Holidaze With Black Mass

7 December 2018 By jesse Leave a Comment

“Previously in the world of Raymond Watts…”

Seriously, though, with each release that <PIG> has put out this year I feel the need to have a title card akin to Star Wars explaining what has happened up until now. But at the end of the day, we can all agree on one thing: There is no such thing as too much <PIG>!

But I digress. [Read more…]

PIG Meets Sasha Grey, Covers KC & the Sunshine Band. Because Why Not.

27 August 2018 By jesse 3 Comments

One day soon I hope to run across some newer <PIG> fans and, like a crotchety old man of 40, spew off lines like: “You kids have it so easy! Back in my day, Raymond Watts waited a decade between albums! And when he did release records it was only in Japan! Before Amazon! And the internets!” Seriously though, and unlike a crotchety old man of my age, I feel blessed to live in this wondrous time where Watts has rediscovered the fire and has re-emerged with a (seemingly) untapped well of new material. PIG Continues Comeback Ascent On Illuminating Risen

25 May 2018 By jesse 1 Comment

If you’ve been with <PIG> since the beginning then the natural progression of this awesome Electro/Industrial/Glam project has been the absolute best rollercoaster to ride on, especially with the recent second coming phase. However, if The Gospel and subsequent current outings haven’t been your cuppa then my best advice is that you’d best scurry back to the fold and beg for forgiveness because all you non-believers are about ready to bear witness to a more even keeled, well-rounded, and fine tuned incarnation of <PIG>. PIG Continue Comeback Victory Lap With Prey & Obey EP

7 June 2017 By jesse 1 Comment

Oh my! If you were underwhelmed by last year’s comeback and the accompanying Remix album (Released earlier this year) then the Lord of Lard has something that will guarantee your return to the flock. But let’s be honest, if you weren’t impressed with those two slabs of finely constructed (and deconstructed) Industrial malevolence then were you ever really in the flock??? [Read more…]
