We’ve been hyping it for weeks and now that the expanded 2023 edition of In Between Days has come and gone we guess the only thing left to do is… hype it some more??? That’s right! The more and more we dive into the artists appearing on this year’s In Between Days Festival, the more we realize that our bank account is due for some major withdrawals with all the merch we’re already planning to invest in while also trying to figure out how we’re going to lug everything around all day (Are hand carts allowed on the grounds?)! We’re also realizing that, while we’re trying to keep these preview posts short and sweet, it’s frelling hard with the volume of material some of the artists have out in the world currently. And that brings us to SLOTHRUST who recently dropped what’s essentially a double album within the span of 6 months (Parallel Timeline arrived in September of 2021 with Parallel Timeline (Origins) featuring new and demo versions of PT tracks arriving in March of 2022) and will be bringing an array of those unique sounds to the IBD Stage on Day 1 of the 2-day music and more festival happening at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Quincy on August 19th & 20th.

Sure, Boston Calling may have kicked off the summer season all strong-like but what have they done for us lately? More importantly, who’s going to be covering that post-4th Of July/pre-Labor Day period??? Well, that’s where the In Between Days Festival comes in as it launches its’ second year later in August and expands to two days back in the fabled land of Quincy (That’s just a hop, skip, and a Red Line T trip from the big city if you were wondering). Recently, we had the opportunity to connect with Festival Director James Macdonald via email who’s joined with founder Alex Magleby (Currently slaying as CEO of the New England Free Jacks rugby team) to steer the 2023 IBD Festival to new heights and beyond thanks to his vast expertise in the crowded Music Festival arena which you can read all about in our interview below:

ANMLPLNET Create Lynch-ian Utopia On Debut Fall Asleep

11 April 2018 By jesse Leave a Comment

Honestly, we were smitten as soon as we saw that the opening track was called “I Was Fucked By A Cloud”. Never mind that ANMLPLNET features 1/3rd of Slothrust or that the songs are downright compelling, the fact that they chose that as the opener AND first single sold us on their integrity without even hearing a note of music. Slothrust Present Unique Batch Of Covers On Show Me How You Want It To Be

23 October 2017 By jesse Leave a Comment

Reviewing a covers record is a weird thing. Do you review the original? The new version? The interpretation itself? Covers records in general are a mixed bag. You get the ones that go so far left of center then others that are so on point that they beg the question: “Why even bother?” [Read more…]
