Week 2 of the triumphant return of the Rock And Roll Rumble raged on at the the Middle East Upstairs on Thursday, April 13th for what was a bittersweet event for us having relatively recently reviewed 3 out of the 4 artists vying for a spot in the Semi-Final rounds. It also happened to be one of the loudest of the whole Rumble so far as attendees were greeted once again by our fabulous host, Anngelle Wood of Boston Emissions, to start a raucous night of, ahem, RAWK, and then some!

Can we just plaster this post with the weeping emoji? Or the heartbreaking one? Because who can choose between these artists?? Same goes for each night but this is the first night where 3 out of the 4 entrants have been gushed upon by us fairly recently (That said, is it shitty to link to our own reviews when talking about tonight’s artists because we’ve got some built in posts is all…) so it’s fair to say we’re coming in a little biased as to why this night might be our favorite of all the preliminary rounds. Where have you been all our lives, The Freqs??? On the surface, checking out Poachers from The Freq’s and you can see where comparisons to early Royal Blood (2014’s self-titled in particular) or Queens Of The Stone Age and their Lullabies To Paralyze daze might come in but when you really dive in to their latest release you’ll come to find that there’s so much more to this eclectic and electric Salem, MA-based trio.
