19 in ’19: A Truly Exhausting Look At The 19 Albums You should’ve Paid Attention to in 2019.

31 December 2019 By jesse Leave a Comment

I was going to start this thing off with an additional list of “honorable mentions” so I could add EVERYTHING I wanted to include on this year end list but figured, if you regularly read this blog then you know that whatever gets featured here already has major heart eyes from its’ Editor-In-Chief so without further adieu, here’s the real meat and potatoes (Hyperlinks to our reviews are in the headers where applicable):

Torche Conquer All With A Heavy Melody On Admission

11 July 2019 By jesse Leave a Comment

Somewhere in the beginning of my review of Torche’s last behemoth (Which you can conveniently read here!), I mentioned something along the lines of wanting to write a review on the title track by itself because it was that good. Well, it seems that the quartet from Miami, Florida have topped themselves yet again and yet again I will refrain from writing a whole piece about how much of a killer track “Admission” is. Even though it’s that awesome. And is totally deserving of a separate post just to talk about that fact. But there are other awesome tracks within to discuss…

19 for ’19: An Even More Exhaustive Look/Speculation On What Will Float Yer Collective Boats In The Coming Year

Holy hell do we have to nip this thing in the bud before we even start! The idea was to have 19 solid releases that are in various states of development to fill out our list of most anticipated for 2019 (Get it? 19 in ’19) but then we kept thinking about ALL THE REST that are due (supposedly) so we had to add a precursor to said list which, well, got kind of insane. So for your reading pleasure is this stream of consciousness thing we concocted before the actual list which follows directly after. We even put artists in bold so you can skip around the wordsplosion that’s about to happen. Thanks in advance for reading! [Read more…]

Turnover_-_Peripheral_Vision

You know what? I’ve been completely overthinking this thing. It’s just a list, right? Fifteen of my most favorite albums of 2015. No problem! How hard can it be? Well, let’s see. I started the draft on December 1st and it’s what? 2016 already?!?!? Okay, okay, okay! Here goes nothin’ (And no particular order, kind of). Reviews are linked in where applicable: [Read more…]

Torche Get Even More Massive For Relapse Records Debut

I could honestly write this entire review based on the massive title track which closes out Torche’s fourth full-length, the appropriately titled Restarter. The song itself wraps every single miniscule little bit of what makes this album great and amplifies it in spades. It’s heavy, it’s droning, it’s consistent, it’s a veritable beast! Much like the rest of Restarter. [Read more…]

In no way in any sort of order, here’s the albums we think you should be looking forward to in 2015:

1. Amen (TBC/TBA)

No clue what the album is called and no clue when it’s coming out but it should be coming at you in 2015. Casey Chaos is back, my friends! Reinvigorated and alive (Didja see Amen’s triumphant set at Knotfest?!?!?!), Chaos rules next year and is joined by former Amen bassist John Fahnestock and some guy named Dave Lombardo playing drums. Make no mistake, this should be one of the heaviest and most prolific metal release of 2015. [Read more…]
