The Journals Kept Deliver Some New Aural Anthems On EP Strike the Match

Rooted in this neat lo-fi ’80’s New Wave meets modern Indie Rawk aesthetic, the latest from The Journals Kept contains three tracks of timeless earnest aural anthems from the Western MA-based outfit.

The title track carries that theme beginning with guitar and bass melodies out of Paul Vittum and Walker Lee respectively which hearken back to early ’80’s Post-New Wave Electro Rawk especially when Faith Vittum’s keys arrive with the atmosphere as drummer Paul Pelis lays down frenetic yet driving beats.

“October” shifts tonally relying on the strength of Faith and Paul Vittum’s vocal harmonies for a slightly more folksy Americana feel that sounds like a classic you just can’t place and still fits within the sonic framework of the band while “Late at Night” just buzzes on this moody, airy number which could sound instantly at home on early recordings from both The Cure and R.E.M. with The Journals Kept’s brand of Alternative Dream Pop here.

Strike the Match arrives on May 2nd through Volume Key Records and you can secure yours the moment it arrives by heading here or here. For more from Journals Kept, including info on all upcoming live shows and more, follow the socials by clicking here, here, or here.
