Lauren Babic is the kind of artist that makes us glad we always press “play” on whatever promo we cross paths with across ye olde digital desk. You might already know the multi-talented multi-instrumentalist as a vocal coach and coverer of many a popular Pop song across her successful YouTube and TikTok channels (Check them out here and here). Or maybe you know Babic from outfits like SKYLIMIT, Red Handed Denial or CrazyEightyEight! As for right here and right now, we know Babic as the person behind the killer collection of songs found on EP Too Much and Never Enough.
From the start, Too Much and Never Enough just oozes with an energy and “Sanctuary” immediately sets that mood acting as a template of what’s to come as the song delivers fierce shreds, propulsive percussive power and Babic’s illustrious vocals bringing the croonin’ and the crushin’ with a serene balance in between. “Breathe You In” is even more powerful, blending modern Pop/Metal hybrids like Poppy or Spiritbox with the wall of sound that Sleep Token erects for a vibrant modern Metal masterpiece.
And then “I’m Bored” will make you forget everything that’s come before on a delightfully devastating Metal tirade with Babic acting out that voice teased during “Breathe You In” like a full on tantrum while hearkening to some Nu-Metal greats that filled up the Roadrunner Records roster in the mid-’00’s. “Let It Die” is a catchy ass crusher with a glistening chorus surrounded by a brilliant mash-up of Djent and Prog sounds to make the end of Too Much and Never Enough a memorable one.
Too Much and Never Enough arrives on March 28th. Pre-order and pre-save options are available now by heading here and for more from Lauren Babic, you can check out the socials across the interwebs by clicking here, here, or here.
