You know that Picard facepalm meme that’s still all the rage? That’s us right now as we belatedly cover the newest from Boston-based duo blindspot. It’s not just that we’re super late to the party on “Sleepwalker” either but more the knowledge that not only is their newest single our most favorite yet but also that it may actually be the band’s best TO DATE!
But all that praise is objective/subjective, yeah? Well, if you follow this space regularly then you know we don’t cover anything that we’re not into so we’d like to think praising the track in that way holds a little weight overall. But why, right? Well, what’s not to like really. Since their beginnings, blindspot has masterfully crafted their own brand of modern Alternative with a phenom in vocalist Alexa Economou (Also handling bass and guitars) whose soulful croon endlessly emotes to form a sonic synergy alongside beat maestro Chris Cormier (Also assisting on guitars and keys). With “Sleepwalker”, they mange to up the ante and/or stakes by brilliantly pairing their world with Electro Pop to erect a sound that’s bombastic yet blissful and immediately infectious.
Visually, blindspot always kill it with their band personas on full display and this latest accomplishment as envisioned by Mike Kesslak for 41st Casanova Productions (And filmed at Forty First Studios & Central Catholic High School) is no exception enhancing the aural atmosphere by showing Economou and Cormier in their natural habitat performing whether that be on a stage, a practice space, or anywhere really.
