We just made room in two separate spots in our just released 2026 preview post (Didja miss it? Because it’s right here if ya did!) for Cape Crush-related releases so we just had to make sure we put our money where our mouth is especially since we had such high praise for lead single “Calm & Delivered”, right? Right!
Anyway! Kickstarting the road to Cape Crush’s debut LP Place Memory (Out on May 1st via Wanna Hear It Records), “Calm & Delivered” takes EVERYTHING that you already love about the North Shore quartet and elevates it to the next level. The guitars from James Christopher and Ali Lipman are crisp and razor sharp while the way that Cody Rico’s drumming and Jake Letizia’s bass overlap yet complement each other is peak rhythm section relationship goals. Sonically, Cape Crush exudes early 2000’s EMO with bands like The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Jimmy Eat World and Yellowcard coming to mind but then you factor in Lipman’s serene vocal delivery and all that association is thrown out the window and what you’re left with is something dynamically compelling and entirely new. And if you dig this, just wait until you hear Place Memory!
“Calm & Delivered” is out now and you can find your copy by heading here or to the stream below. If you needed another reason to cheer for the band/push you to purchase the new single then know that proceeds from sales of the single via Bandcamp will be donated to the Beyond Bond Boston Legal Defense Fund.
