Sure, we may exhibit a tough, Metalhead exterior sometimes (Not really) but at our core it’s Industrial and Electro that really drive us and over the past decade or more it’s been offshoot genre Darkwave that really gives us all the heart eyes especially when you consider outings by Corlyx, LEATHERS, VOWWS, Strvngers, and many, many more. So when we get pitched with the sounds that Portland, Oregon’s (Also one of our most favorite places) Ceremony Shadows is collectively conjuring then it’s pretty much a given that we’re going to do our best to showcase it here.
Originally started as an ambient solo experiment by Timo, Ceremony Shadows evolved into its’ current state with the addition of co-vocalists Anastasia and Jakub with newest single “Resistance” the latest in their ongoing trend of timeless Electro that straddles the lines of modern Darkwave and ’80’s soaked Electro Pop/New Wave effortlessly. Following “Impetus” and “Altars” released earlier in the year, Ceremony Shadows continues to display their sonic evolution on a track that’s a little less ominous and, dare we day, slightly more upbeat even! Like Helen Marnie and Rozz Williams fronting TR/ST, “Resistance” is a club banger, a new Goth anthem, yet still that best kept underground secret that you simultaneously want to succeed but also covet all for yourself.
“Resistance” is out now ahead of a new album coming soon. To hear the new tune, head here or here and for all the rest on Ceremony Shadows, follow the trail of socials across the information superhighway by heading here or here.
