Honestly, we’ve been purposely holding off on our usual regularly scheduled bouts of Corlyx love because we knew 2024 was bringing a LOT of singles leading up to the band’s inevitable new album and didn’t want that piece to mostly consist of lines like “And back in ____ we covered ‘(Insert Clever Corlyx-ish Song Title Here)’ so go check that out at the link here”. That said, with the absolute LAST single out now ahead of an official announcement of their upcoming DOUBLE ALBUM (PURPLE PAIN, due on Valentine’s Day 2025 via Out Of Line), we felt it was time to ramp up the Corlyx coverage.
“Zombie Kid” is the name of the game and if you, like us, have been following along with what Caitlin Stokes and Brandon Ashley have been creating then you’ll no doubt be pleased as punch with the band’s latest foray into the world of Electro-tinged wicked wonders. And, like what’s come before, “Zombie Kid” offers another diverse taste of what’s on the upcoming PURPLE PAIN menu with this particular outing leaning into the Punk aesthetic of Corlyx’s already established Post-Punk meets Darkwave sound. Fast-paced and full of fervor yet still brimming with those signature Ashley guitar wails and Stokes’ sultry siren-like swooning, “Zombie Kid” is the perfect cap to the long build towards PURPLE PAIN.
“Zombie Kid” is out now through Out Of Line with PURPLE PAIN slated for release on February 14th (Pre-orders coming soon, pre-saves available here). For all your “Zombie Kid” needs, though, head here and for the rest of the Corlyx socials, take a ride on the information superhighway and make sure to make stops here, here, or here.
