On first listen through the latest single from New England’s Falsely Accused and we’re transported back to the mid-’90’s and the years of seemingly endless discovery and exploration into what would eventually shape what is our ever expanding musical identity. That’s deep, right? But it’s true! Maybe you’ll find that in “A Drink Before the War”, too, or maybe at the very least you’ll end up with a new favorite song and band for 2024.
Brimming with a raw energy yet still sounding larger than life (Thanks in part to the recording and engineering work of Steve Aliperta at Kennedy Studios in Burlington, MA), “A Drink Before The War” is a new school soon-to-be live anthem sing-a-long favorite at its’ basest while also a rallying cry for love if you delve deeper with FA’s Matt Tavano (Lead Vox/Bass) stating in the accompanying press release that the lyrics, inspired by his wife, are “about finding the person you’re going to spend your life with and then fighting life’s battles together.” We don’t know about you, but the world could use a few more “love songs” like this with Mark Young’s guitars building a wall of sound alongside Mike Azzolino’s powerhouse drumming which, when combined with Tavano’s low end and commanding presence on the mic produces a song that’s a mix of Alkaline Trio, Face To Face, and Sugar all at once but still uniquely Falsely Accused through and through.
“A Drink Before the War” is out now and you can hear it wherever good music is sold… which is the interwebs these days. For links to the tune(s), head here and then here or here for the latest on all things from the Falsely Accused camp.
