There is a void this Spring and it’s not the one flying in the skies as the latest MCU big bad in Thunderbolts! We’re talking the one year delay of a new Rock & Roll Rumble and with it, lots of fresh faces you might not have heard of yet. Lucky for you, though, some of your already faves are still playing out with potentially your next soon-to-be-discovered fave. In today’s case, we’re talking about Kathy Snax who’ll be sharing a bill with Happy Little Clouds and Girl With A Hawk later this month!
There’s already an abundance of music to love across KS’s Bandcamp page (Find it here) but for today we’re going to focus on most recent single “Shangri-La” to get you up to speed. A bubbly Pop jam that’s bursting with bounce and subtle bombast, “Shangri-La” is a great entry point into the fantastical world of Kathy Snax. Accompanying the sugary sweet sounds of Kathleen Mahoney’s keys and vocals on this particular venture are Pete Weiss on miscellaneous percussion, Jason Skibo on drums, Dave Briand on bass and Al Simoes and Seth Hurwitz on guitars who make “Shangri-La”, initially released in December, the perfect song for the current season (Read: Spring).
“Shangri-La” is out now and you can find your copy by heading here or to the stream below. For more from Kathy Snax, like that previously teased show with HLC and GWAH happening at Lizard Lounge on May 31st (Getcha tix here), follow the trail of socials by clicking here or here.
