Singles! Phantom Ocean, “Sorry, Dude”

Vibrant but seething with venom, the latest from Salem, MA duo Phantom Ocean is a bit of a conundrum… in the best way ever! With “Sorry, Dude”, PO go all in addressing feminine rage as drummer/vocalist Sarah Moughan-Smith describes this fiery anthem as “a testament of absolute exhaustion”.

On the one hand, you’ve got drummer/vocalist Moughan-Smith preaching of what she calls “A bone deep ache of when the people around you continue to drain all that they want and remain unsatisfied, even when you’ve given them everything they’ve asked for” but then there’s the way it’s presented in Phantom Ocean’s brand of catchy modern Alterna-Grunge and we’ve gotta ask: Is it okay to sing along? Vibe with it? Well, we should hope so! That’s what music’s for, right? A way to heal through the heaviness of a given song’s message.

And on the other hand, you can also go in blissfully unaware to “Sorry, Dude” to enjoy the shit out of this jam that slays however you choose to interpret it. Drew Smith’s gnarly fuzzed out riffs will still bring the noize and Moughan-Smith will still beautifully bash out those beats while delivering those lyrics in a bluesy/soulful way because, at the end of the day, Phantom Ocean do multi-faceted songwriting and sonic storytelling really, really well.

“Sorry, Dude” drops on March 25th and you can head here to get all the links you need to make sure you have your copy ready to play on release day! For more from Phantom Ocean just jump to the interwebs and access their socials which you can find by clicking here or here.
