Singles! Sunday Junkie, “Fever Dream”

Artwork: Tom Martin

We’re going to go ahead and not declare anything from Sunday Junkie “Their best yet!” ever again and since this is on the interwebs now for all to see means it’s a binding contract. That said, according to those same “interwebs”, Sunday Junkie’s “Fever Dream” IS vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Tom Martin’s “personal favorite” (It was stated right here even!) so we’re going to defer to that opinion right there so as not to sully our good name and/or further stepping on our own toes decreeing what is the “best” before hearing all of what’s to come.

When it comes down to it, though, the stuff Sunday Junkie is putting out is indeed topping itself with each new offering. And “Fever Dream” is no different. Well, sonically it’s very different but in terms of slightly edging out last month’s “Sister” release if we were to rank these releases? Then again, very different.

Anyway!

Definitely their most dense ditty to date, “Fever Dream” is a lush kaleidoscope of sound and emotion that strips away the bombast of previous outings from Martin and drummer Shawn Pelkey and hones in on the band’s songwriting prowess as they conjure this simultaneously intricate and intimate banger (Hey, we just said it was less loud not that it didn’t still slap) that sheds even more light on what’s to come on Sunday Junkie’s upcoming full-length.

“Fever Dream” is out now ahead of Sunday Junkie’s debut full-length which arrives on May 9th. For the new single, you can get your copy now by heading here or to the stream below.
