The two songs that make up the double A-side that is the Chelsea Curve’s latest release, and first for Rum Bar Records, just oozes cool. The Mod Pop mainstays of the Boston scene made up of Linda Pardee (Vocals, Bass), Tim Gillis (Guitars, Vocals), and newest addition Bruce Caporal (Drums, with Ron Belanger playing on this new pair of tunes) returns with a two-fer of tracks guaranteed to get your booty moving and stir your soul!
Beginning with an updated version version of “Jamie C’Mon” off 2022’s All The Things, The Chelsea Curve offer up a scorching new rendition as remixed by Andy Lewis that goes big on handclaps, tubular bells, and an all around glowing atmosphere accented by the accompanying “Mod Squad” comprised of Jay Webb (Trumpet), Dan Levine (Trombone), and Rod Spark (Keyboards). Then there’s the cover of Mickey Lee Lane’s “Hey Sah-Lo-Ney” which is perfect for Pardee’s pipes with an abundance of playful wordplay and powerful pounces out of Gillis and Belanger.
