Sisters Of… Ready First Post-Rawk Must-Have Of 2025 With Undeniably Epic Marie/Michel

It’s funny but sometimes it’s a tough job to put into words when talking up a wholly instrumental album which is probably why we tend to be super picky when one comes our way that’s not local or named Pelican. That said, there was something so expressive and so vibrant within Marie/Michel, the latest EP from Missouri’s Sisters Of…, that practically, ahem, spoke to us. And yes, we know how that sounds.

“Marie” is a burgeoning ball of thunderous drumming and atmospheric riffage from the team of Aaron Coker (Drums, Guitar) and Chris Clark (Guitar, Bass) that just feels like the beginning of something. Both ominous and oracle-like, “Marie” is a gargantuan-sounding harbinger of what’s to come.

And the “what’s to come”? Well, that would be “Michel” which is just brutal and an all around vicious riff fest from start to finish with pointed percussion relentlessly attacking and guitars that soar and shred for a walloping seven minutes and change. As separate bodies of work they’re pretty phenomenal but when listened to as a complete opus, it’s undeniably epic.

Marie/Michel drops on January 10th through Crowquill Records and you can make sure you get your copy the moment it drops by heading here. For more from Sisters Of…, follow the trail of socials when you click here or here.
