What are they putting in the Lowell water??? If we don’t say it enough already, what a scene! And the latest release from SkyTigers will not do anything to dissuade the constant glaze out of us at least as they deliver a ferocious new LP that’s concise, crushing and oddly cathartic. If Heavy Metal therapy is your thang, that is.
As known offenders of alliteration, we love clever wordplay so …Injustice For All and the song titles soon to be mentioned already reeled us in. Beyond that, the newest from SkyTigers is incendiary and infectious with songs that seemingly only go on for seconds in some cases yet tell sonic stories that’ll last a lifetime. First up is “Immortelevision” and a moving bout of modern Punk/Metal perfection while “Apex Creditor” is already on a whole ‘nother level from the opener with guns blazing and a divine pairing between Brian Linehan and Ryan Moloney’s respective bass/drum rhythm section with a gargantuan wall of guitars from Rochelle Ferguson and James Christopher topped by Linehan’s impassioned vox.
“Rubble Without a Cause” gives us Bad Religion vibes until we get down to brass tacks/the nitty gritty and another ginormous chorus surrounded by raucous rumblings all around followed by the recently unleashed “Greenbark” which hits just a little bit harder within the context of …Injustice For All. “Back Stabbath” is devilish and a gnarly melding all things Heavy with some particularly rad riffage out of Christopher and Ferguson before the BANGER that is “Spared No Expense” hits after some tasty timekeeping out of Moloney to start.
“Recreational Insulin” is relentless but also cathartically anthemic, filled with gang vocals and Linehan’s inspired screams. “Casualty Friday” has some riffage similar to an AC/DC classic sped up to ludicrous speeds at its’ onset as this robust Rawk-fueled jam, complete with fiery solos, takes off toward the finale which comes in the form of “Coma Chameleon” and this propulsive fireball of aural awesomesauce that, like the rest of …Injustice For All, never quits.
