Sour Tongue Tap Into A Fuzzed Out Alterna-Punk On Latest EP FINAL GIRL

You will never catch us ignoring any artist with Horror-related artwork/titles associated with them. And, more often than not, it all turns out to be rad anyway! Which is most certainly the case with FINAL GIRL, the latest EP from Los Angeles’ Sour Tongue!

“Disappointer” is a clusterfuck of an opener in the best way possible with parts moving every which way AND loose, celebrating Indie Alternative, Punk, and Grunge to name just a few of the genres that Sour Tongue touches upon throughout FINAL GIRL. “I Thought You Liked Me!” is a beast with barely two minutes of runtime to run through and sounds like Melvins fronted by Exene Cervenka but in ST’s case you get the glowing voice of Satori Marill and glowering riffs of John Murphy (Rounded out by Stamati Arakas, Mars Horner, and Van Ham).

“Me-Mania” is punkier Devo to start and then slides nicely into a groove akin to something you’d find on an early Queens Of The Stone Age recording (Read: Desert/Dance Rawk) while “Minus One” is straight out of the world of Scott Pilgrim, built off a sturdy, swinging rhythmic foundation and Marill’s broad bluesy vocal strokes that devolve into an almost manic state that echo the cacophonic state of the sonics swirling around Satori’s voice.

FINAL GIRL is out now on the ever reliable Metropolis Records and can be heard/downloaded in a variety of ways when you head here. For more from Sour Girl, including upcoming live dates, hit the socials by clicking here.
