Moving Units Collide With Ghosts Of Post-Punk Past On Collision With Joy Division

Joy Division fan? Fan of covers? Like modern dance rock as well? Then Moving Units latest experience is definitely for you!

But let’s get this out of the way first, shall we? “Shadow Play” as performed by The Killers is bad ass. “Isolation” by Therapy? is a barnburner. And Nine Inch Nails version of “Lost Souls” is so amazing that it never needs to be done again.

That said, what Moving Units has concocted here is like the greatest Joy Division “Best Of” you never knew you needed to have. Culling together the creme de la creme from the Joy Division catalog, Collision… has everything from token hits to obscurities to that gooey post-punk goodness in between.

Do you really need to hear another version of “She’s Lost Control” or “Transmission”? If it’s the Moving Units version then the answer is a resounding YES! An almost hopeful rendering of “Love Will Tear Us Apart”? Yep, that’s here as well. Remember “Interzone”? No? That’s okay because Moving Units rousing rendition will have you on your feet dancing as you Google the original version and compare the two (Spoiler: They’re both fantastic).

Then there’s the spacey synth-rawk “Isolation” done in an almost Gang Of Four style while the mostly straightforward cover of “Digital” stands out thanks to Danny DeLeon’s staccato percussive attacks and vocalist Blake Miller’s urgent delivery. Even the purest of Joy Division fans will find something to latch onto within Collision… as Moving Units fans will be treated to another collection of kickass tunes from the dance rawk titans.

Collision With Joy Division is out on February 17th. Buy it now! Here! And to add to the recorded experience, Moving Units will soon be hitting the road in support by mixing Joy Division classics in with the Moving Units illustrious catalog. For dates and more, head on over here.
