bikethrasher Bring The (Lou) Barlow And More On Modern Alt Rawk Bash The Cursed

Catchy and killer across five memorable tracks of modern Alt-Rawk bliss, The Cursed EP from Boston’s bikethrasher sounds more like an album from an established favorite than an early entry into a blossoming discography. And that’s just one of the reasons why you should tune in to bikethrasher now!

“Break” reels you in the moment it starts by combining the magic that made (And still makes) Dinosaur Jr. such a solid Alternative staple with a little of that Turnover magic from their best album to date, Peripheral Vision. Accentuated with punctuated percussive hits breaking up the glistening guitar tones and shimmering vocals and “you’re”Break” sets listeners off to a rollicking start on this new bikethrasher trip!

“Smile” delves into Dream Pop territory and conjures up a little Lou Reed in the vocal department while “Lye” is a quirky and quick palette cleanser before diving into the murky waters of downtrodden “My Song 9 (Brontide)” which, to us, envisions Sap-era Alice In Chains mixing it up with Beck circa Sea Change. Wrapping it all up is “Smile (demo)” with some sobering strumming serving as a delightful dessert following a full meal of mighty fine music.

The Cursed EP is out now and can be yours to own or stream when you head here or here. For the latest from bikethrasher, follow them across ye olde interwebs by heading here or here.
