Dawn Of Ashes Channel Old School Industrial, Create New School Classic With The Antinomian

The lack of exciting, new Industrial music in 2020 has only added to the collective “Whomp whomp!” that is this dumpster fire that we currently call 2020. But all is not lost! Music is still coming out, and more importantly, music like the latest from Dawn Of Ashes which looks to pick up the pace in terms of Industrial heavy hitters.

Old school, decadent, and bleak, “Pawns of the Wretched” kicks off The Antinomian in style and sets a tone for the tracks that follow. With this inherent sense of urgency, “Pawns….” erupts into a fantastical flaming firebird of phenomenal rage that hearkens back to the more primal aspects of early Industrial.

“Sleep Paralysis” sounds like Rabies-era Skinny Puppy mixed with Wumpscut as the ominous synths drive forth pulsing beats and Kristof Bathory’s snarling vocals while “Blood of the Titans” pulses with accented guitars shredding before programmed beats add an inherent sense of dread and anxiety as Bathory’s vocals devolve into a beastly, guttural mechanical growl.

“Dried Up” is syncopated layers of lurching lunges with airs of Bile’s (Krztoff in particular) menacing tones seeping through before “Anatomy of the Soul” decimates with an instrumental, beats-driven beastie that serves as the perfect segue into the macabre “Scum of the Earth” which stomps and slams its’ way into our collective black hearts.

“Follow the Pain” is a burgeoning Electro triumph, working towards a towering Industrial behemoth before “Mind Prison” offers a masterclass in the art of “old school” with swirling Electro masking a dark underbelly and then “The War Within” further drives the point home as this guitar-driven, tribal creature of the night slowly stalks its’ prey and then sonically attacks the senses to close out a defining chapter for Dawn Of Ashes.

The Antinomian releases on July 10th via Artoffact Records. Pre-orders are live now and can be yours by clicking here or here. For more on Dawn Of Ashes, follow the trail of socials by clicking here, here, or here.
