“That’s right, I’m a simple Bitch.”
If that’s not the best intro to a song this year then we don’t know what is. Tack on Vocalist/Guitarist Eliza Rose’s maniacal laugh to follow that statement and tell us your curiosity isn’t at peak levels as to what’s coming next! Is this new single from Eliza and the Organix compelling? Sure! Batshit crazy to boot? Well. that’s just a Tuesday for us already fans of the New York-based outfit.
Anyway!
If you’ve been following Eliza and the Organix then you know they know how to do anthems so it should come as no surprise that they ALSO know how to do anti-anthems just as good so the aptly-titled “Anti-Anthem” is sure to be a banger, right? Correct! Rose leads the way on this Punky/Bluesy/Alt Rawk track that sees Rose run the gamut of Vocal styles. Like, we’re talking ch-ch-ch-changes in the vocal passages. Think growing pains. Think voice cracks. Think Bobcat Goldthwait?!? Think Chevy Chase even (But, like, without the being a asshole). And it all works! Add in some rad rhythm section synchronicity from Jonathan Pharis on Bass and Evan Alexander Moore on Drums and “Anti-Anthem” is the essential end-of-Summer anthem you didn’t know you needed right now.
“Anti-Anthem” is out now and you can find your best version by heading here or to the stream below! If you dig what you hear and are in the New England area then you’re in luck with some killer live performances on the way like the show at Middle East Upstairs on Aug 25th (Yes, tonight!) with Mars Ray & The Raptures, Miss Christine and Joshua Sweet (Tickets for that one can be found here) or over at The Parlour in Providence on Aug 26th with Mars Ray again plus Brown Apples and Sugarcone (Tix for that one here) OR at Spruce Coffee in New Haven once again with Mars Ray but also with Chaser 8 and Sinecera on August 28th (More info on that one can be found here).
