Singles! Falsely Accused, “Witches”

Artwork by Matt Tavano

The recent resurgence of New England’s Falsely Accused has been nothing short of astounding and something that’s been absolutely enthralling to listen to with a new chameleonic way about the trio. Recent release “A Drink Before The War” headed back to the ’90’s with an Alkaline Trio meets Social Distortion kind of anthem and now “Witches” scales the tempo down ever so slightly for a laid back opus that’s no less incendiary.

Perfect for Spooky SZN (But highlighted outside of our new seasonal column), “Witches” opens up FA’s musical arsenal even more on a track that infuses Desert Rawk elements into the band’s already impressive sonic palette to create a sound that also incorporates Wailin’ Storms’ brand of bluesy devilish Rawk for this “The Devil Went Down To Georgia” spiritual successor that’s on point for the Season of the Witch but really, ready for anytime. Haunting guitar lines throughout from Mark Young accent the spooky vibes and get wilder deeper within conjuring up some Josh Homme-like wizardry from when that guitarist used to be lead guitarist for that band that used to throw “Generator Parties” out in the desert in the early ’90’s while Matt Tavano absolutely commands the mic with all the fierceness of a Southern preacher at the pulpit as Mike Azzolino’s drumming complements all of it with big staccato hits and even bigger grooves.

“Witches” is out on October 18th ahead of a new EP in early 2025. For the new track you can head here to links to all of your most favorite DSP’s and for all the rest of your Falsely Accused needs you can take a ride along the information superhighway to find the socials located here and here.
