Singles! Leila Lamb, “He Belongs To Me”

Believe it or not, this is the second single/video we’ve covered in the last six months or so where a performer is wearing a dog mask of some sort and all we’ve got to say on that is that some reviewers (Us.) are just truly blessed! Anyway, we’re here today to tell you all about the wonders of Boston-based (By way of Los Angeles) Leila Lamb with a focus on the video/single for “He Belongs To Me” as well as the last gLAMB cage event of the year called “BALLDROP” and featuring performances from Leila, DJ Rayvino and Kapmar (Hence the post lead image)!

In a time where we should be battening down the hatches and preparing for year end/new year preview posts we find ourselves enamored with the sounds of newest single “He Belongs To Me” and Leila Lamb in general (Links further down for the rest of LL’s stellar song selections). Following February’s haunting and hypnotic “American Spirit”, “He Belongs To Me” is a decidedly more upbeat affair blending bits of Patriarchy’s penchant for pushing buttons with the ’80’s Electro stomp of Lipps Inc. as Lamb’s performance both on record and on screen is stunning and sultry making pointed stabs sound so endearing. Speaking of “on screen”, the video for “He Belongs To Me” (Directed and edited by Leila Lamb, filmed by Jillian “Jeeg” Minahan and Bananagirl) captures the essence of a grainy VHS workout tape (Think the opening to American Horror Story 1984 in particular) but fetish forward. And that’s all we’re going to say because you really have to see it for yourself AND we spoiled the dog mask already.

“He Belongs To Me” is out now and you can find your copy at one of many DSP locations conveniently collected for you here. For more from Leila Lamb, including where to catch a live performance like the one presented by gLAMB cage (BALLDROP!) on December 4th at The Comedy Studio (Direct tix for that one here), hit the interwebs and head for the LL socials located here or here.
