We’re pretty sure that you’ve never heard anything like n0trixx before because we’ve never heard anything like n0trixx before! And you could be forgiven for missing out unless a hybrid of Trap, Alternative, Hip-Hop, Trip-Hop and Metal is your thing and if that’s the case then shame on you for not telling us about n0trixx already!
Anyway! Russian-born, Lancashire-based n0trixx is indeed a mixture of all those genres that should not work together yet yields a result, especially on new single “Revenge On God” and in n0trixx’s capable hands, that sounds effortless. Now consider that “Revenge On God” is also the lead track for upcoming debut LP A Catalogue Of Madness And Melancholia so the skills required to oversee the complex nature of the various sounds and styles and mold them into one cohesive almost three and a half minute banger makes all of n0trixx’s effort that much more impressive.
The song and video (Brought to you by Loki Films) is an earnest look at dementia and both mediums reflect that with the song combining the fierceness of early Nailbomb (The Wrong Kid Died guitarist Yentl Cambre adds the sultry shreds) with Alec Empire’s mastery of creating sonic chaos and Peaches’ endearing erotic exuberance. Add in n0trixx’s vocal performance that adapts to each style change in a way that’s both intoxicating and furious and not only do you have one helluva track that needs to get shoehorned into your end of the year lists yesterday but also a good sign of what’s to come.
“Revenge On God” is out now ahead of debut LP A Catalogue Of Madness And Melancholia which arrives on March 13th.
