Burner Bring A Precision Pummeling To Yer Earholes On It All Returns To Nothing

The very definition of vicious, Burner’s debut full-length is a scorcher from start to finish. From the first note struck on “Hurt Locker” through to the last sonic embers burning through on “Waco Horror”, It All Returns To Nothing is a loud, abrasive collection of songs that’s like Every Time I Die and Cattle Decapitation jamming into the wee hours of a Saturday BBQ.

That aforementioned opener “Hurt Locker” is on fire with a flurry of cacophonous noise at its’ onset before it settles into a more straight forward Metal melee headed to a mega breakdown toward song’s end. The title track is a great big ball of frenzied fury with “Struggle Session” managing to up the intensity considerably later which is no small feat on a record as nasty as this one as this pummeling precision in the drumming department devolves into some mighty blast beat action.

“Pillar Of Shame” is just an explosion of sound that’s unrelenting, “Prometheus Reborn” gets its’ Groove on in a major way, leaning into a streamlined rhythmic onslaught efficiently, “EF5” goes for broke to effortlessly erase any notion that Burner could ever let up with these monstrous vocals accenting the aural carnage being wrought all around, and “The Long March” boasts some pretty powerful pairings between the guitars and drums at times.

“An Affirming Flame” is a rollicking good time and, musically, very reminiscent of early Lamb Of God when they were more raw and hungry. But wait? Are those clean vocals we hear??? They are! And are we hearing some complex and introspective instrumental interludes within this cornerstone beastie??? Indeed! And did we mention long? Because it really is but in the best way possible. And if that’s not your cuppa then “Waco Horror” is just a furious race to the finish with barely a minute and change of shreddy Metal goodness to close out this absolutely grand debut.

It All Returns To Nothing arrives through Church Road Records on June 23rd and you can pre-order and pre-save it now by heading here or by clicking on the stream below. For more from Burner, follow them across their socials when you go here, here, or here.
