Roseneath Keep The Riff factory Open For Business On Exquisitely Electric Shine

This one has been sitting in ye olde inbox for quite some time and we have to apologize for not bringing attention to the sounds of Roseneath sooner. But we’re here now along with Shine, the newest from Virginia’s own Roseneath.

It’s kind of that cliche in the world of Shine where it’s hit after hit after hit or maybe memorable tune after memorable tune after memorable tune then but that doesn’t hit quite the same. The point is, every song on this here EP is a banger! Starting with “Blurred & Bent”. Which is the best! With their penchant for being purveyors of the almighty riff throughout this release, “Blurred & Bent” is this perfect blend of L7 fuzz with some Stone Temple Pilots sensibilities topped with a vocalist in Jason Roberts who’s pretty damn indescribable. And that says something in this day and age. But it’s not some Grunge throwback or the next Indie darling. It’s just next level Rawk from start to finish.

“By a Thread” perfectly bleeds out of “Blurred & Bent” and grounds Roseneath ever so slightly with slamming drums to kick it all off accented by blistering riffs from Roberts and Brian George that swirl around and cascade into yer earholes with the most sweet vibrations. Next up, “Say Never” splits up the EP with a hearty power ballad highlighting a softer side in tune with blink 182 at their most mature (Think 2003’s much maligned yet way overlooked self-titled especially).

“Chasing Ghosts” is a killer stomper that has both George and Roberts puttin’ in overtime at the riff factory while Roberts lays out a broad, sweeping chorus to offset the fiery instrumental noise. And then we get the title track which is a boss little ditty to close up the Shine shop and subsequently, ahem, shines another light on the exquisite songwriting prowess that Roberts and George exhibit on each and every track here.

And the best thing? Shine is available NOW on Trepanation Recordings! And if you have one of those new fangled mobile device thingy’s or a home computer, we’re pretty sure you can get it or stream it instantly by clicking here or on the Bandcamp stream below.
