How is it that we managed to be slow enough covering another new single to the point that the follow-up was already out (See our most recent coverage of Arrows Of Athena)?!?! Well, it did indeed happen and like before we decided to bundle both into one post bringing us to today’s coverage of Lover Of Eve and their singles “Trashed” and “Butterfly Wheel”!
Hitting that sweet spot right between The Cramps’ brand of Horror Punk and the manic Garage Rawk of The Murder City Devils, Lover of Eve’s latest pair of tracks ahead of even more new music on the horizon are as spectacular as they are sublime.
“Trashed” is up first, heralded by shrieking guitars from Seavey Bowdoin and Pete, haunting lines from Aaron’s keys and some driving bass and drum runs from KButch and Bruno Rodriguez respectively as vocalist Kiara Oliver melodiously hoots, hollers and howls out some sweet nothings with a commanding presence. On the other hand, “Butterfly Wheel” saunters in with all the swagger of the next new Rawk anthem before settling into some ginormous Grooves while Oliver offers a different vocal side delving into those lower ranges and some Bluesier melodies until cacophonous breakdowns and chaotic keys break the verse/chorus/verse mold to keep listeners on the edge of their seats until the end.
“Trashed” & “Butterfly Wheel” are out now and can be found across all your most favorite DSP’s which are conveniently located together here (“Trashed”) and here (“Butterfly Wheel”). For more from Lover of Eve, hit their socials all over the interwebs by clicking here or here.
