Oh! Glory be to the Post-whatever music emanating from our chosen listening devices when “Taller Trees”, the debut release from PPR PPL, comes on! The brainchild of P. Willem (Who you might better know as Peter W. Bartash, drummer of The Rupert Selection), PPR PPL is an expansive, cinematic affair that crushes but in a cathartic way!

That said, if we were to make a lone comparison on PPR PPL as a brighter side to the WH offshoot Foreign Film (Who similarly put out their brilliant debut earlier this year) then know that that’s typed in the highest regard.
Okay, now onto the debut single! On paper, it looks like “Taller Trees” could be more of a technical spectacle with the way it’s constructed by P. Willem (Vocals, Drums, Programming & Keys), the rest of the PPR PPL include Brian Charles (Guitars, Recording, Editing, Mixing), Annie Hoffman (Bass, Engineering) and Jamie Rowe (Engineering) who have the bleeps and boops (A technical term!) covered with all the Engineering listed in the credits. And sure, the debut PPR PPL track is technically profound but it’s also just pretty freaking sweet, too! P. Willem’s voice is broad and moving, soaring over the vibrant, textured soundscape built here with Hoffman’s lively low end a stand out and Rowe and Charles’ studio mastery making some legitimate musical magic.
“Taller Trees” is out now ahead of debut EP PPR PPL // 01 which arrives on November 17th through PPR RCRDS.
