Singles! Radio Compass, “California”

Only in MA could we have a band from Salem release a song called “California” on Friday the 13th during Spooky Season. Maybe that’s because because in October, the Witchy City does what what it wants??? And that’s okay by us especially when Radio Compass’ latest single, and first since the Aloha LP released last year, is as infectious as “California” is!

Sure the title may automatically evoke some sunshine-y vibes but while the track certainly does shine, “California” definitely has more in common with Goths than the Golden State. At the center of it all is vocalist/guitarist Angela Lee and a bubbly performance that’s a little Belinda Carlisle and Lush’s Miki Berenyi as Kerry Lee’s banging bass throughout echoes Simon Gallup’s performances from The Cure’s early singles with Lee and Franklin Siplas’ guitar werk dwelling in the Post-something vein to make Radio Compass’ latest a magical mix of genres that highlights Lee’s goal in the song of “trusting your path”.

“California” arrives on October 13th and you can find all the pertinent links for that along with where you can follow Radio Compass across the world wide web (Maybe “Witchy Wide Web” in this case???) when you head here.
