Symphonic, Scintillating, Sultry at times, and ever so Immediate is “The Point”, the latest single from Philly’s own Soft Skies Inc. A nifty in-your-face dab of modern Alternative that’s a polyamorous pairing of Garbage-style Electro Pop, early ’80’s Synth-heavy Post-Punk acts like Wall Of Voodoo (That hypnotic twang that Ryan Rex conjures really gets that point across) and Moby’s penchant for programmed strings (Think the iconic flourishes of “Extreme Ways” that became synonymous with Bourne final cinematic moments especially).
Get all that? Good because it gets even better beyond how we tried to frame it. The aforementioned Ryan Rex acts as your tour guide with a vocal performance that’s propulsive and like a slightly more emotive Bernard Sumner (How is that even possible??) while Martin Rex is responsible for those BEATS and an all around percussive pounce that propels the latest from Soft Skies Inc into the upper echelons of modern Alternative.
