Maybe it’s the Salem base of operations of it all or the all around dreamy nature of what Spirit Hotel do but something just speaks to us, okay? And maybe something will speak to you as well upon hearing new single “Perfume”.
Begun as a recording project by singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Leila May Hauck before teaming with producer/engineer/fellow multi-instrumentalist Jeff Lerner and eventually blossoming into a full fledged band (Who have just finished recording a new LP at Studio G for release in early 2026!), Spirit Hotel is a blissful barrage of Dream Pop and Shoegaze and Indie Rawk that’s like an even mix of early She Wants Revenge (“Red Flags And Long Nights” comes to mind) and The Raveonettes with Leila May Hauck’s delectable and indescribable voice hovering over all like a protective spirit. That sound permeates throughout their latest song “Perfume” and if this is any indication of what else can be heard on Spirit Hotel’s upcoming full-length then can someone please tell us where to go to sign up to be the first to know how to get our copy?
“Perfume” drops on December 4th ahead of new LP Reve (Arriving in March 2026) and you can head here or here to make sure you can hear it the second it arrives. For more from Spirit Hotel, including the latest on live gigs like the solo acoustic one from Leila May Hauck happening at Koto Salem (Get to a show there before they’re over!) on December 4th or the one opening for Pink Mountaintops with White Hills at Middle East Upstairs on December 10th (Tix here) or another one at Koto Salem (Full band this time, though) on December 19th, head here.
