Singles! The Brother Stereo, “Time in History”

While seeing Every Time I Die implode in a very public way at the tail end of 2021 was awful to experience as a fan, the one shining light was that we’re now left with two ETID-adjacent projects making their way to our collective earholes within a month of each other this fall (And you KNOW that was intentional). While not explosively awful by any means in terms of social media battling, the recent announcement by 2023 Rock & Roll Rumble entrants Not Bad Not Well of their immediate hiatus was followed by some good news all around with the release of a new EP (Available here) as well as directing fans toward not one, not two, but THREE outfits carrying the Worcester-based NBNW’s torch in their absence with Sunday Junkie, 2024 Rumble entrants Gut Health, and The Brother Stereo filling the gap currently.

The last of those three, The Brother Stereo, is poised to pounce with their second release of the year (Following May’s debut single “After The Rain”) entitled “Time In History” and encapsulating classic Alternative aesthetics of the ’90’s while also embracing more modern guitar-centric leanings akin to something like Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds brand of Rawk. Featuring guitarist Buddy Sullivan, multi-instrumentalist Michael Robert Kelly on vocals, guitar, and bass here (And also the brother of the drummer for the band that provided the soundtrack for the MA roll call at the DNC Convention this year), and NBNW’s Shawn Pelkey on drums, The Brother Stereo bring a refreshing bout of sustained smoothness on “Time In History” which boasts a killer atmosphere that twinkles and tantalizes to draw listeners in to the solid soloing and vivid storytelling within.

“Time in History” drops on August 23rd and you can get your pre-save on now by heading here. For more from The Brother Stereo, follow the trail of socials when you click here or here.
