Ask and you shall receive? Or in this case, put an entry in your 2026 preview under the “wishful thinking” category without any indication that music was imminent and hope for the best!
Anyway!
The dance of joy outta us when the newest song from The Endorphins came across ye olde digital desk was a sight to behold. We’re late-ish to The Endorphins party, having only gotten into them following the release of the first single off Nothing Is Real in September 0f 2022 (“Voyager Of A Daydream”), but have been fans ever since. That said, anticipation for the follow-up LP has been at a fever pitch round these parts.
So does the first new single since 2022 measure up? Well, not to toot our own horns too much, but we ARE covering it here if that says anything (As a refresher, we don’t cover anything we’re not passionate about). But to speak more simply: It does, indeed, measure up. It’s everything fans of the band would want and more following their last full-length.
All fuzz, no frills. That’s what “Mirage” is in a nutshell. Matt Bass (guitar/vocals), Austin Wilson (bass) Jeff Walsh (drums) and Michael Roberson (guitar) have concocted a timeless track that’s hopefully a sign of what’s to come with Bass’ voice crying out over the noise that’s this awesome amalgamation of classic Dinosaur Jr.-style Alternative circa the early ’90’s and deftones or Thrice’s penchant for erecting walls of sounds around their sonic concoctions.
“Mirage” is out now. And we have it on good authority that there’s lots more cool news from The Endorphins coming down the pipeline soon. For your copy of “Mirage”, hit here or the stream below.
