The Magic City has a knack for crafting the very best timeless Rawk yet still kinda sounds “Boston” at the end of the day in a classic vein with Modern Lovers or J. Geils Band coming to mind. Even Morphine to an extent with the way they craft music that one could peg as “Picturesque Pop” or “Cinematic Rawk”. It’s just very vibrant, okay? And on their newest single, and lead track off their upcoming debut LP, The Magic City don’t do much to detract from any of those descriptors.
Anyway! The road to The Magic City begins with “Ozma Is My Shadow”, a more urgent sounding mini-opus that sees that talents of Adam Anderson (Lead guitar, vocals), David Jackel (Vocals, guitar, synth), Ken Marcou (Acoustic and electric drums) and Mike Quinn (Vocals and bass) combining like a vivid musical Voltron to bring fans a veritable melting pot of sounds created when former/current members of Graveyard of the Atlantic, Reverse, The Daily Pravda and The Daylilies streamline those sounds through a sonic sieve to bring out some very new The Magic City moments.
