It is currently unclear to us if Boston outfit Today Junior was inspired by a certain Adam Sandler movie when choosing their moniker but we’re into what they’re putting out nonetheless. The “what they’re putting out” today has to do with new single “Keep On Pushing Me” which is a thrilling slab of modern Alternative with an abundance of Fuzzed out Indie Garage Rawk thrown in for good measure.
Also, “thrilling” is a term that’s not nearly used enough when talking about music today and we’re bringing it back. You’ve been warned/you’re welcome! But anyway! Today Junior! New song! Beyond what we mentioned above, at its’ core “Keep On Pushing Me” is a mix of classic ’90’s Alternative yet infused with the touches that make the modern sound of that genre so unique. The subtle percussive stomp from Mike O’Toole is the lead in before an abundance of sound and a calculated musical free-for-all collectively occur as Jonathan Hislop (Bass, Backing Vox) and Harry O’Toole (Lead Vox, Guitar) enter the fray on this delightful cacophony that has all the makings of your next favorite anthem.
