Pride Month wouldn’t be the same if Linnea’s Garden didn’t have something to say in some way, shape or form. For 2026, like 2025, fans get quite a bit of Linnea’s Garden both on stage and on their preferred listening devices as a Summer tour kicks off on June 25th at O’Brien’s (Culminating with a Unicorn Sound Cave event on July 11th with more deets on that one here) as well as a new EP called Get Heard that we think is easily the best thing the band have put out to date.
We’ve dug Linnea’s Garden since their Queer Punk revolution launched with 2020’s “I Wanna Try On Yr Clothes” but there’s no denying that if you listen to that then Get Heard opener “Sell Yr Love” then the future is lookin’ fuckin’ bright. Still both incredible tracks but night and day in terms of the evolution that’s happened. Look, we don’t want to spend an eternity on the first track on here but holy hell is “Sell Yr Love” just gorgeous! Linnea Herzog has truly come into her own as both a songwriter and performer with “Sell Yr Love” the next step and bringing an almost symphonic quality to LG (Thanks, in part, to Herzog, Hands, and Rob Norris on additional synths) with Esme Rummelhart guesting on violin adding layers to a track that’s a little like listening to Interpol for the first time all over again.
“Grrrl On Guitar” is just as debonair with Herzog’s vocal cadence and divine Post-Punk melodies (Cuz the song title, duh) at the forefront with Hands and Ray Clough providing their own delectable performances on Bass and Drums while recent/lead single “Stop Codon” is kind of a quickie but still a blissful blast of sound.
And then “Her” arrives to close out the new EP and hand to Gahd, we continually find ourselves picking our jaw off the floor in reaction to the sounds coming out of our headphones throughout Get Heard. This one’s slightly more mid-tempo with an influx of genres, celebrating Garage Rawk, Riot Grrrl, Alternative and even Grunge (Hands’ bass lines give us all the Alice In Chains feels on this one) for a magical melting pot of melody.
Get Heard is out NOW and can be yours by heading here or to the stream below.
