2023 is not letting up in terms of big returns and for Boston heavy music fans, it doesn’t get much bigger than Gozu who return with “Tom Cruise Control”, the quartet’s first new piece of music in over 5 years ahead of a new record due in May.
Beyond a chorus with vocal harmonies here that brings the Grunge and with it a nod to Alice In Chains especially (Think “It Ain’t Like That”), the Gozu sound is incomparable. When their music hits they come at you with a sound that is inherently Gozu and BAH GAHD this new slab of shreds from vocalist/guitarist Marc Gaffney, lead guitarist Doug Sherman, drummer Seth Botos, and bassist Joseph Grotto fits that bill perfectly with just over four minutes of sonic divinity.
The riffs on “Tom Cruise Control” are unstoppable, that aforementioned chorus is gorgeous and if that wasn’t enough, fans even get a sick breakdown that’ll have them DROOLING for May 19th to hear what’s on the rest of fifth full-length Remedy.
“Tom Cruise Control” is out now to stream/watch with Remedy right around the corner via Metal Blade Records/Blacklight Media. Get yer pre-order on for the new record by clicking here or here and for the latest on Gozu, follow them across the information superhighway by heading here, here, or here.
