Singles! Shedonist, “Daddy”

Blues-fueled Alternative Rawk is the name of the game when it comes to Shedonist’s latest single, “Daddy”, so if you grew up in the ’80’s and ’90’s like I did then you’re in for a treat. And if you didn’t, you’re still in for a treat because the new song rawks.

With “Daddy”, Shedonist head down a path like The Pixies and The Toadies mixing it up with Eddie Vedder or Kurt Cobain even (More Ten less Lightning Bolt in regards to the former) to conjure up some sonic sorcery. Jasmin Toubi’s soulful, bluesy delivery is the secret weapon beginning all quiet-like and then building to match the soundscape in the background until bubbling over and spilling out into an angst-ridden wail.

It’s a combination of the sounds emitting from Toubi’s voice and guitar alongside lead guitarist Conor Spellane that immediately make the downtrodden “Daddy” stand out. Add Ben Foerg’s tremendous thumping on the drums and Walker Dubois’ bodacious bass bounce and you have yourself one helluva righteous rawk song.

“Daddy” is out now! Get all the Shedonist good stuff, including the new single and related merch, in one convenient location here. For more on Shedonist, you can traverse the electronic superhighway and eventually arrive at some social media locales when you click here, here, or here.
